Ahhhh where do I even start? First off, I’ve absolutely missed blogging, it’s either been Talk Tuesday or motivational posts but I miss just pouring my heart out on here. This year has been amazing, in more ways than one and I’ll try to highlight some moments while sharing some lessons I’ve learned along the way, you ready?
“He who has overcome his fears will truly be free.”
Soo..on February 1st I started my talk series ”Moving Forward” on my YouTube channel (I made the account two years before actually starting, I was terrified of posting my talk videos). Looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It gave me more confidence in myself and helped me deal with my own demons. I figured I wasn’t the only person dealing with certain issues and I’m grateful for the positive and loving response I’ve received so far, truly heartwarming <3
Here’s one of my first videos I posted, with the ISIS-background to match my scarf..
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
I can honestly say I found my ”Why” this year, which is my purpose, the reason behind my work. I realized that I loved sharing stories in hopes of inspiring and uplifting people. I started part two of my Talk Tuesday series on my blog this year. As much as I love fashion, beauty and food, God I love food..I love people more, I want to truly understand them, hear their stories. It fills my heart with joy that so many of you shared a piece of your hearts and souls with us all through your answers to the 9 questions of Talk Tuesday. As a blogger I wanted to create content that’s entertaining as it is beneficial. I hoped that by sharing other people’s perspective on love, life and personal purpose, you would all think about your own lives and answer the questions for yourself. God willing, I will continue with this segment of my blog in 2016.
This beautiful soul is definitely on my to-date list of 2016 <3
“Everything you see I owe to spaghetti.”
― Sophia Loren
I love food. And I’m convinced it loves me back. Considering my undying love for carbs, I would have never ever thought I’d be modeling (I feel uncomfortable using that word but how else do I describe it, while writing?). I started my channel and blog to make motivational posts while hiding behind my screen and enjoying my pizza. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the experience of dressing up and posing and stuff. It’s flattering, not even going to lie but also very terrifying. I’ve been many sizes through the years, I went from super thin to what could be considered plus-size and now I’m somewhere in the middle and I like it.
“Never love anyone who treats you like you’re ordinary.”
― Oscar Wilde
I NEED TO TYPE THIS WITH THE CAPSLOCK ON CAUSE OH MY GOD THIS QUOTE IS THE TRUTH, GIVING ME LIFE, YASSSS HUNTYY, QUEEN, I CAN’TTT.. *INSERT EVERY OTHER OVERUSED WORD/PHRASE OF 2015*
If there’s one thing I’ve learned (the hard way) this year it would be that you should never ever EVER allow anyone to treat you like you’re ordinary cause you are not. Whether it’s a member of the opposite sex, a ”friend” or family member. I’ve had to dismiss so many people this year but I’m glad I did. People take advantage of the kind, the nice and the generous. I don’t consider my soft personality a weakness, if I wasn’t who I am I would not be able to connect with others on a deeper level than most. The greatest feeling to me is when someone let’s down their guard and let’s me in. It’s truly a greater compliment to be trusted than to be loved or desired.
I hope you set the bar even higher for yourself next year. Whether it’s how people treat you or the type of company you accept around you or the way you view yourself. You’re capable of so much more than you think and the long road to becoming who you were meant to be starts with the first tiny baby step. May we all continue to take tiny steps to an amazing future and get closer to our true purpose in this short but sweet life. Onwards and upwards.
I love you all.
Love & light,
