TALK TUESDAY #9

Hey beloveds,

It’s been a long time, my apologies for disappearing. I’m still trying to let my blogging/vlogging/smizing flow naturally without anything having to suffer. I look forward to sharing all the beautiful things coming up with you guys, so bare with me as I find a balance. This week’s Talk Tuesday features my stylecrush, miss Cocopolitan herself, Mary and my fellow Youtuber and certified sweetheart Houda! I loved reading their answers to the quite deep questions of TT and I know you will too! Get your tea (or hot cacao) ready and enjoy! Love & light, Ruqia

Houda

”To me…love on a universal level means being able to put someone else’s needs before yours. Even if it’s just a random person. It should be a universal way of living.”

  •  Who are you?

I used to define myself by my passions, my creativity and certain positive as well as negative traits. I also used past experiences and future aspirations to define who I am. Not anymore. I am starting to let that go, because I learned that none of those things actually define me and none of those things really matter. All I want to be associated with is kindness, positivity and peace(fullness).

  • What is your deepest intention?

My deepest intention is pleasing our Creator. No matter what it looks like on the outside, nobody can see with their bare eyes what my intention really is and in what state my heart and soul are. That is why I always try my best to stay far away from judgement. And another intention is that I just want to inspire people to better themselves and be kind to one another.

  • What is your deepest fear?

I actually have quite a few. Losing my belief, not being forgiven (by God as well as people) and losing faith in life. I think there’s not much worse than these things. Everything else can be overcome.

  • What does love mean to you?

Love is so important on so many levels . To me…love on a universal level means being able to put someone else’s needs before yours. Even if it’s just a random person. It should be a universal way of living.

  •  What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in your life and how have you overcome it?

I have made a lot of mistakes and I still do. I don’t believe in ‘telling on yourself’, haha. I can mention one though and that is not trusting my guts (several times, silly me!) And finding out my guts were telling me all along that something was just not right.  I have overcome mistakes by repenting and staying away from things that might lead to mistakes AlhamdouliLLah. I have also learned to trust my guts and to just go with my intuition.

  •  What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

All praise is due to Allah s.w.t., the biggest accomplishment on a worldly level would have to be getting my Masters-degree in Journalism. On the Level of spirituality (which is way more important in my opinion) is gaining self-awareness. I still have a long way to go, but AlhamdouliLLah. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

  • How would your best friend describe you?

I have two and I asked them, I told them to be honest haha! I was described as ‘someone with a beautiful heart and a crazy mind (goofy) and someone who is always there for you and never judges.’

  • What’s the best advice you ever received?

The best advices came from books that I read. Yasmin Mogahed’s advice to not get emotionally attached to this world i.e. people/belongings/status etc. The other advice that really helped me a lot was to be present and not let the past or the possible future distort my vision of the here and now. To just be present and aware of the here and now.

  • How would you like to be remembered?

As a good muslim who inspired people to do good and always be nice, as an amazing wife and mother and a kind hearted person who everyone felt comfortable with. That would be amazing.

”One who splashed her love, light and kindness like a confetti. Passionately served and strived to help people get to where they want to be.”

  • Who are you?

Deeper than whatever I could say about myself, I’m really who God says I am, literally. It changes everyday, but come down to the same things. That said I’m an influencer, creative, and life student who’s got a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a huge  passion for empowering young men and women.

  •  What is your deepest intention?

To do the best to reach fully my God-given potential, while living purposely and changing lives.

  •  What is your deepest fear?

Not attempting my response to question #2

  •  What does love mean to you?

Love means – in words,  vulnerability, bravery, patience, fearlessness, imperfection, power, sacrifice and long-suffering.

  •  What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in your life and how have you overcome it?
I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and still making more as I grow. I can’t quantify which was the biggest as I don’t tend to capitalize on them. 😀
  •  What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

The efforts I still make to the best I can be in comparison to the day(s) before.

  •  How would your best friend describe you?

Strong willed

  •  What’s the best advice you ever received?

Best advice? Comes from my Bible all the time, ‘the best ones’.

  •  How would you like to be remembered?
