1) ASK YOURSELF: ”WHAT’S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?”
Too often, we focus too much on what could go wrong. Our energy is limited and we need to apply it to creating meaningful connections, advancing our lives and meeting our goals. Change what you can and let go of anything outside of your control. Invest your energy wisely.
2) USE YOUR IMAGINATION
If you’re anxious about doing something for the first time, imagine you’ve done it before. Sit down, take a deep breath and try to vividly imagine how it would feel to accomplish your specific goal. How would it feel to succeed at it? The mind does not know the difference between something vividly imagined and something real. This creates a positive feeling towards your goals and puts you in the right mood to put your plans into action.
3) BE INSPIRED
We’re all inspired by someone, whether it’s an artist, an athlete, or a loved one. You can even be inspired by your future you. What would your role model or your future you do? What characteristics in them do you admire and what is it about them that makes you want to aspire to be more like them?
4) USE THE ”AS-IF” FRAME
Now that you’ve identified the characteristics you admire in your personal role model it’s time to use the ”as -if” frame. This frame is simple: if you were confident (like your role model), how would you act? How would you handle a certain situation? By asking yourself these questions, you are literally forced to answer them by going into a confident state. By acting long enough you will pretty soon develop the habit of being confident.
5) ”I AM…”
A million people can tell you you’re amazing, gorgeous, funny, talented, best thing since sliced bread but in order for real change to occur and to boost your self-confidence you need the love and support of the only person who truly matters…you. In my post I AM I shared some of the daily affirmations I use to remind myself to always be kind to myself. Life can really throw us off our track sometimes but I believe that by using these positive affirmations we can get back on track.
6) TAKE A CHANCE
You lose out on 100% of the opportunities that you never go for. In order to get what you want, ask for it. When you think about reaching your goals and what it is you truly want to accomplish, try to think of the world as a place of endless opportunity filled with other helpful souls. When I say take a chance I don’t just mean on going for what you want, it’s also about adopting a belief that is empowering. A belief that forces you to believe in the goodness of others and their willingness to help and support you. When we think the world is against us we’ll be less likely to take a chance on our dreams and to JUMP. I invite you to adopt a take-a-chance mindset.
7) ALWAYS SPEAK LIFE!
Life and death are in the tongue and that negative internal voice can keep anyone from reaching their full potential. Try to avoid negative assumptions about the future or your own abilities. It’s not just about affirmations about yourself but also about your career, family life and goals. Tell yourself that this new project will be amazing, that awesome job will be yours etc. Speak life.
I hope these tips were helpful to you guys.
Love & light,
